Building on the successful re-opening of face-to-face (F2F) learning sessions, the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board – National Capital Region (RTWPB-NCR) recently held a productivity training on “7S of Good Housekeeping” on March 23, 2022.

The session introduced 7S to attendees as a multi-faceted program that aims to optimize the workspaces of their respective businesses towards increased efficiency and safety.

Said session involved a two-step approach to knowledge transfer with an informative discussion led by RTWPB-NCR representatives, Dalisay Moog and Luchie Atienza, followed by a practical application of the productivity concepts introduced by the speakers. Attendees from various MSMEs were engaged primarily through a hands-on activity by immersing them in an actual work area and tasking them to label common office objects with appropriate actions that will help optimize each workspace in the office.

The 7S Training Program is one of the productivity modules offered by the Board intended to foster productivity through the application of seven guiding principles from which the name was derived: Sort, Systematize, Sweep, Standardize, Self-discipline, Safety and Sustain.

Towards the latter part of the session, RTWPB NCR Supervising Labor and Employment Officer, Jackilyn Borja, provided additional technical assistance in the formulation of productivity-based incentive scheme, which serves as a fundamental approach to employee recognition that can be applied to all types of workplaces.
