The Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board – National Capital Region (RTWPB-NCR) participated in the recent area-wide activity, organized by the Regional Conciliation and Mediation Board – National Capital Region (RCMB-NCR), last August 28, 2020 through a virtual meeting with a theme: “Empowering Labor-Management Partnership in the New Normal.”

It is a series of webinar sessions intended to cover all Labor-Management Group in Metro Manila, with a primary objective of maintaining industrial peace in the region through continuous education and mainstreaming of alternative dispute resolution mechanisms as a mode of settling work-related disputes between management and workers. More so, it also aims to strengthen companies’ bi-partite partnership during this new normal and guide them in harnessing labor-management harmonious relationship amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.

The session featured two relevant topics, such as: (1) “DOLE Issuances in the New Normal,” which was discussed by Policy and Program Development Division Chief Nicanor V. Bon of the DOLE-Bureau of Working Conditions; and (2) “Workplace Productivity in the New Normal,” as discussed by RTWPB-NCR Board Secretary  Kim S. Lagcao. Lagcao also presented the latest “Employment Situationer in NCR” to provide them with an idea on the current status of establishments that have filed for temporary and permanent closures, retrenchments, work arrangements as well as the number of workers affected, among others.

More than 50 participants from Quezon City Labor-Management members actively joined the session and raised their queries during the question and answer portion.

The next round of NCMB’s area-wide webinar session is scheduled on September 9, 2020 and will cover Labor-Management PAPAMAMARISAN Cluster.
