Some 125 labor inspectors of the Department of Labor and Employment – National Capital Region (DOLE-NCR) joined the online orientation on Wages and Productivity held by the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board – NCR (RTWPB-NCR) to capacitate and update them on the current issuances related to wage and learn the importance of productivity.
RTWPB-NCR Board Secretary Kim S. Lagcao discussed the salient features of the Republic Act No. 6727 or otherwise known as the Wage Rationalization Act. He also discussed the Prevailing Minimum Wage Rates in NCR including Rules on Exemption; Importance of Performance Based Incentives Scheme; Facility Evaluation; Time and Motion Study; and Employment and Working Conditions in Public Utility Buses.
The topics on Basic Concepts of Productivity and Productivity Toolbox and other related matters were discussed by Wage Board NCR’s Senior Labor and Employment Officer Ana Lissa A. Emperador and Labor and Employment Officer III Dalisay P. Moog.
The activity was held in batches of three, which started on February 22, 2021 (Batch 1), February 24, 2021 (Batch 2), and March 1, 2021 (Batch 3). The first and third batch of labor inspectors have been in the service for several years while the second batch of inspectors were newly-hired.
Said training was part of the DOLE-NCR’s Basic Course for Labor Inspectors (Level-1A).
