Considered as one of the flagship programs of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) Program should be implemented with integrity to ensure that the program serves its purpose, especially that the country is still dealing with the economic impact brought by the pandemic.

On March 17, 2022, the Makati-Pasay Field Office (MPFO) of the DOLE-National Capital Region (NCR) commenced the implementation of TUPAD to 849 beneficiaries of Pasay City.

Part of the enhanced process flow for the said program implementation is the conduct of orientation on the salient features of TUPAD, giving emphasis on the amount of wages, number of work days with corresponding number of hours to be rendered each day. Beneficiaries were also reminded that no deduction shall be made from their salary and were also briefed on the distribution of official ID upon contract signing for validation purposes, among others.

Meanwhile, the processing and pay-out of wages took place on March 31, 2022, following the 100% validation of qualified beneficiaries. As part of the post implementation procedure, MPFO coordinators also interviewed beneficiaries to check if TUPAD workers in Pasay City received their full salary, which had been transmitted via DOLE-NCR’s money remittance partner.

Indeed, behind a successful implementation of any program are the people who put their hearts in the execution of their undertaking. As Narendra Modi, an Indian politician, said, “Good governance with good intentions is the hallmark of our government…”
