The Department of Labor and Employment – National Capital Region (DOLE-NCR) through its CAMANAVA Field Office witnessed the oath taking ceremony of the newly elected officers of the Valenzuela City Tripartite Industrial Peace Council (VTIPC) at the Valenzuela City Hall on October 14, 2022.

Valenzuela City Mayor Weslie Gatchalian administered the oath following the Council’s courtesy visit to formally introduce their 2022-2024 newly elected officers and appointed committee members last August 26, 2022.

The VCTIPC – Employer Sector elected officers that took oath were Mr. Peter Quintana of Toprite Plastic Industries, Inc. (President); Ms. Rochelle F. Aguirre of Fompac Plastic Corp. (Vice-President); Mr. Jose P. Marcelo of Mitsuboshi Belting Philippines Corp. (Secretary); Mr. Elberth D. De Vera of Bestank Manufacturing Corp. (Assistant Secretary); Coun. Niña Shiela B. Lopez of St. Joseph Academy of Valenzuela (Treasurer); Mr. Jerry A. Lim of Central Corrugated Box Corp. (Auditor); and Ms. Hiyasmin Y. Palanca of CDO Foodsphere Inc. (PRO).

Likewise, the VCTIPC – Labor Sector officers were Mr. Gerardo O. Mago II of Mayer Steel Workers’ Union (President); Mr. Edgardo I. Alcantara of Foodsphere Inc. Employees Independent Organization (Vice-President); Mr. Mario L. Santiago of Nagkakaisa at Independyenteng Manggagawa ng MBP Star (Secretary); Mr. Leonardo T. Reyes of Nagkakaisa at Independyenteng Manggagawa ng Mitsuboshi (Treasurer); Mr. Noel R. Coquia of Interpack Packaging Employees Union (Auditor); and Mr. Geronimo B. Quiapos of Plastimer Industrial Corporation Christian Brotherhood (PRO).

During the ceremony, Mayor Gatchalian expressed gratitude for the commitment and hard work of the VCTIPC and partner agencies in promoting industrial peace and protecting the rights and welfare of workers and employers in the City of Valenzuela. He also reiterated the Council’s important role in continuously upholding the principles of tripartism and social dialogue to help the Government of Valenzuela move forward.

“…All we need is your support, cooperation of the factories, or labor groups that you represent and the support that is needed by the management and the local government,” said Mayor Gatchalian.

He further added: “I hope in the next years to come in my administration, we will continue the service that we show to the business owners and industries. We will continue the progress, the support, and our initiatives in the labor sector. Here in Valenzuela, we will have a common goal, which is to have industrial peace between the employer and the employee, a harmonious relationship, and always in tune with the government.”

Meanwhile, DOLE-NCR CAMANAVA Field Office Director Rowella V. Grande witnessed the ceremony together with Ms. Ma. Cecille V. Ceballos (DOLE-NCMB-RCMB-NCR), Atty. Kim S. Lagcao (RTWPB-NCR), Ms. Josephine Osea (PESO Valenzuela), Mr. Michael Y. Domagas (OSOAVI), Mr. Prince Billy N. Libed (DOLE-NCR TSSD-LRLS), and other personnel from the Valenzuela City Workers’ Affairs Office (WAO).
