The Valenzuela City Tripartite Industrial Peace Council (VCTIPC) sought more conducive ways to put into motion its planned activities for 2020 despite the disruption brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic.

With the existing community quarantine in motion, gatherings of any sort are discouraged by the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Disease (IATF-EID) to prevent the further spread of the deadly virus. Said restriction, however, did not hinder the VCTIPC to conduct an online learning session on labor and employment updates for its member participants.

VCTIPC’s first online seminar focused on the “DTI and DOLE Interim Guidelines on Workplace Prevention and Control of COVID-19,” which was held on June 23, 2020 with Senior Labor and Employment Officers Robert H. Panganiban and Joseph Gil E. Cabrera as guest resource speakers from the DOLE-NCR CAMANAVA Field Office.

The online conference was attended by 50 participants from 29 companies including the Valenzuela City’s Public Employment Service Office (PESO) and Workers Affairs Office (WAO).

VCTIPC said that a series of webinars will be conducted to keep the employers and employees abreast on the latest labor issuances especially amid the pandemic.
