To ensure continued effort in maintaining quality service offered to clients, the Department of Labor and Employment – National Capital Region (DOLE-NCR) through its CAMANAVA Field Office (CFO), under Workers Organization and Development Program (WODP) facilitated the Workers’ Capability Development Webinar on Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) on May 30, July 18, and August 30, 2021.

Some 222 attendees—188 of whom were successfully certified as Safety Officer I—were composed of officers and members of the Samahan ng Manggagawa sa CDC Manufacturing Corp. – Labor Alliance of Free Workers’ Union (LAFWU), JBC Workers’ Union, and Mayer Steel Pipe Employees Union – Alliance of Genuine Labor Organizations (MSPEU-AGLO).

CFO’s Senior Labor and Employment Officer Joseph Gil Cabrera from the labor inspection division discussed the following: Introduction to Occupational Safety and Health; OSH Legislations for Safe and Healthy Workplace; Basic Safety Rules and Measures; Industrial Hygiene and Chemical Safety; and Hazards Identification, Risk Assessment and Control (HIRAC). Likewise, Labor and Employment Officer John Lexus J. Trijo discussed the Workplace Emergency Preparedness; COVID-19 and the Workplace; and Administrative OSH requirements.
